Preparing for the Semester

How do we participate in FLT courses? Are they asynchronous? Is there any interaction?

FLT courses are fully online and asynchronous, though they all offer opportunities to interact in real time. Our learning management systems is D2L Brightspace. Your instructor will notify you when the course is fully available via D2L. In addition, all students in FLT courses have access to MAFLT resources via Microsoft Teams and SharePoint. Through Teams, D2L, email, virtual meetings, and more, our students get to know their instructors and each other very well. See: Current Student Resources.

What textbooks and materials will I need?

Textbooks are listed in the Student Information System (https://student.msu.edu). Click the Class Search tile. Search for FLT courses in the current semester. See the Textbook Info tab. If you have questions, email your professor. Most textbooks and other materials assigned in FLT courses are available through the MSU Library at no additional cost.

What if I need to change or drop a course?

That is one of the updated topics in the new and improved Orientation Modules. Also see: MAFLT SharePoint > Enrollment Guide.
