Classes in the MAFLT Program at MSU are all online. For most classes, you should have the following equipment or access to the following:

  • A computer with broad-band internet access
  • A computer microphone
  • A computer webcam
  • Microsoft Word or another, similiar, word processing system (check with your instructor to see if he or she can access and read your work if it is not produced in MS Word)
  • Microsoft Excel

Most of the classes will be administered through Desire to Learn (D2L; https://d2l.msu.edu/), an online course management system. When you enroll in a class, you will automatically be added to your instructors' D2L courses. When the instructor opens the course, you will receive an email (at your MSU email account) that alerts you that the course is open. A quick tutorial on the basics of D2L can be found here: http://help.d2l.msu.edu/students/quick-start-guide. When students or instructors have problems with D2L, they can call or email the D2L and MSU Distance Learning Services Hotline.
