Virtual Video-Based Inquiry for Development

of Less-Commonly-Taught Language Teachers

The ViVID Project

A Full Year of Professional Development

  • Join a cohort of 10 LCTL Instructor Fellows
  • Learn from and with our core faculty
  • Open to LCTL instructors currently employed anywhere in the U.S.
  • Get a stipend of $100 per month for participating throughout the year

The ViVID Project provides opportunities for teachers of less-commonly-taught languages to form a lasting virtual community and use video-based feedback to develop skills in reflective teaching and peer observation.

Am I eligible to become a ViVID Fellow? In order to receive the stipend, you must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or visa holder for the full year of the project and teaching at least one language course in a LCTL consistently throughout the year. You can be teaching in any context, any age group, part-time or full-time.  Eligible candidates not accepted for this year will go on a list of alternates.

The National LCTL Resource Center offers teacher development, open educational resources (free stuff), research projects, collaborations with other language resource centers, and more!
